John Griffis - Status update 11/16/09 524pm cst

Friends & family of Team Griffis --

We have created this site in order to mitigate some of the incorrect information that is floating about regarding John's status. We will post information on a regular basis at this site, as warranted, when his condition changes.

Continue to check back to this site for accurate information from the family.

This note was provided by the family regarding John's condition about an hour ago.

"Dear friends and family,

First, we want to thank you for the countless hours of prayer and concern shown to our family. The outpouring of love has been incredible and is greatly appreciated by all of us. There are no words to express the gratitude that we fell for all of you during this time of crisis. Friends and family holding us up with acts of kindness, hugs, visits, and most importantly, certainly carrying us through.

The current update regarding John's condition is as follows:

John is resting and is not in pain. He is in a medically induced comatose state, but there is guarded hopefulness that he will make some improvements. Neither we, nor the doctors, have given up hope that John will recover from this injury. The Lord is powerful and we know that He has this situation in His powerful hands."

I have not been down to see all of you because I felt you probably have had so many visitors and have had to retell the incident so many times. Thank you for this update page. All of you are being uplifted to God by thousands of people. We love you.

Hebrew 13: 5-6
For the LORD Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. I will not, I will not, I will not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let you down ( relax My hold on you) Assuredly not! So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, the Lord is my Helper. I will not be seized with alarm. I will not fear or dread or be terrified.

This is the verse that Lori Mosshart gave to me when our daughter Summer Weaver was in the hospital for 11 weeks....6 of them in ICU. We clung to this promise...I pray for you and your family and KNOW that God is with you all and he promises...Lo I am with you always....our love and continued prayers...Carolyn Jaggers Houston, TX

Jer 30:17 For God will restore health unto you and heal you of your wounds, so saith the Lord"

We clung to this scripture when my daughter Jaque was in the hospital after a horrific accident. Medical science is God sent but nothing heals like the Lord. They may be a tool he uses, but put your faith not in thier words but in HIS power. When the devil comes in the dark, cast him out. Remind him that you have more people sitting on your side of the field! with love and prayers, the Jaque Hall family
