Status Update - World Wide Prayer at 7:00pm

Dear Friends of the Griffis Family,

The family has met with the doctors caring for John. Matthew has brought us an update.

"The doctors have done all they can possibly do. They are continuing to do all that they medically can. At this time, it is crucial for the swelling in his brain to go down. His life is now in the hands of God and not ours or the doctors. We know that these are the best hands he can possibly be in. Tonight at 7:00 pm, we are going to hold a world-wide prayer. Please, no matter where you are or what you are doing, stop and pray for my dad."

The family would also like to communicate how much they appreciate your prayers, support, and care during this time. It is only by your prayers and support that we are making it through this.

7 pm we will be gathering at the foot of the cross, hand in hand, standing in the gap for John. There is a church saying we don't hear much anymore: praying through till we touch the throne of God. Let's do it.

Everybody falls sometimes
Gotta find the strength to rise
From the ashes and make a new beginning
Anyone can feel the ache
You think it’s more than you can take
But you are stronger, stronger than you know
Don’t you give up now
The sun will soon be shining
You gotta face the clouds
To find the silver lining

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do

It doesn’t matter what you’ve heard
Impossible is not a word
It’s just a reason for someone not to try
Everybody’s scared to death
When they decide to take that step
Out on the water
It’ll be alright
Life is so much more
Than what your eyes are seeing
You will find your way
If you keep believing

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do

Overcome the odds
You don't have a chance
(That’s what faith can do)
When the world says you can’t
It’ll tell you that you can!

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do
That's what faith can do!
Even if you fall sometimes
You will have the strength to rise

Your family has been in my thoughts constantly. I sat in front of your house yesterday at 1:30 and asked God to be with you guys and the doctors. May you continue to be strong. I ran across an old staff development file tonight where John's peers had nominateed him for Teacher of the Year. He is well loved and respected by all who know him. May God's peace be with you!

This is how coach Griffis came accross to me. He was my favorite teacher ever and i have been and will continue to pray for him each day.

I want to teach
my students more
than lessons in a book;

I want to teach them
deeper things
that people overlook-

The value of
a rose in bloom
its use and beauty, too;

A sense of curiosity
to discover
what is true;

How to think
and how to choose
the right above the wrong;

How to live
and learn each day
and grow up to be strong;

To teach them always
how to gain
in wisdom and in grace;

So they will someday
make the world
a brighter, better place.

Let me be
a friend and guide
to give these minds a start;

Upon their way
down life's long road
then I'll have done my part.

Know this .. God says,,,He will never leave us or forsake us. I know at times, we all wonder about that. But if God can open the Rea Sea for the people in the Old Testament, he is surely in control with John's situation. We are praying for God's Will and will keep praying!!

God Bless

"Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

With the blood of Jesus I plea a hedge of healing and protection around John and his family, Father I ask that you surround them in your loving arms and give them the strength, comfort and guidance that is needed in this time. I know the glory that you exude and that with you nothing is impossible, I thank you and praise you in Jesus name, Amen.

My family has been continuously been praying for John and each of you. As a family, I pray for your strength and peace of mind that God is fully in control of John's recovery. For John, we pray that he is able to fully recover and return the loving arms of his family, students and community. For the heatlhcare team, that God will give them wisdom and discernment on John's treatment regime.

Saundra, God woke me up at 5am this morning...and he quickened in me to pray specifically for you...
I know that your children are also having such a hard time and I do pray for them daily...but this was directly for you...
He told me to really have you focus on His peace. God's name for for peace is JEHOVAH-SHALOM. He is the Prince of Peace, He would teach and Guide people to the way of peace. His first words to His disciples after rising from the dead were, "Peace be unto you". He preached and promised peace. There is so much more....

When you cry out to Him...as we ALL cry out to Him on you and your family's behalf...may we cry out to
JEHOVAH-SHALOM...The Lord of our Peace. With that comes more peace than you could even imagine...

ABBA! I cry out!
Body! Will you join me!!!!
